Easter Sunday

As many of you probably already know, we made the trip north to Pampa to see T's grandparents for Easter. It was a fun filled weekend well spent with family. The green grass there was unbelievable, and so totally not fair! Sadly, neither T nor I wanted to really leave. Does that sound bad?

I had my sil take some family pictures for us. Our first family picture! Yay! T asked me, "will the pictures ever stop?" Ha, silly T! He should have known better, they are just getting started!

Mommy's Little Bunny was sound asleep after a great church service and a picnic in the park.

While we were there, T and his dad decided that they needed to do a little target practice. They set up a can full of sand and commenced to shooting at it. Now, the wind was blowing and it seemed they were having a hard time. So....
I had to go out there and show them how it's done. I don't want to brag or anything, but I haven't shot a gun since I first found out I was pregnant almost a year ago and I went out there and hit the can with the first shot! I would have made my daddy proud!!

We also did some fishing. Or the boys did. T loves to fish and was more excited about that than anything I think. T's little brother caught this catfish.

I just love this picture. It could be on a horse calender.

What are you looking at?

On our long trip home Sunday, K and I decided that we were going to get sick. This was totally an involuntary thing, just so you know. I don't mind being sick but I feel bad for little K. He is so stuffed up and had a hard time sleeping last night, but I think he are getting over it. Now it's T's turn...
Ok well I'm off to start laundry and start getting ready for our next trip: Horse sale in Roswell Friday and Saturday. I hope we feel better by then... Bye!

Not Doing Anything...

Well here it is Sunday and we are sitting in the house watching Lonesome Dove and eating junk food. We decided that we wouldn't go to church today, since we went to town yesterday to see some of my cousins. I know I know we're bad, but this is the first time we haven't been in a long time, not counting the week I had K.
Not a whole lot has been going on around here, T has just been working cattle a couple days of the week and I have been taking care of baby! I very handsome baby, by the way

K is 3 weeks old in this picture, although today he is almost 4 weeks. He is such a good little baby and it's fun getting to watch him as he is figuring his body out. He likes to stick is his tongue out and smack his lips together, especially when he is hungry :)

I'm pretty sure his eyes are going to be blue, no doubt. He has a light blue ring around the his pupils that has appeared, like his daddy's. Oh and he is sure starting to fill out, his little legs are much chubbier now. They were very thin but they are better now.

He also likes to smile, and I'm pretty sure that if he could laugh he would. He loves to be propped up so he can see, what that is I don't know. He usually likes to look at bright objects, like out the windows during the day or the lights on the ceiling fan at night. He recognizes T and I's voices too. He is just a pretty amazing little fella and we love him very much.

Is it Just me?

Ok, so I am going to blog about something that seems to be very touchy around here, and I don't want to offend anyone but here goes.

I know that this is not a very good picture (I toke it with my iphone out of a magazine.) That is T and he is good buddy that used to work out here.
Anyways, looks like a pretty cool picture huh? You have the cows in background, a fire pit where dinner is being made, and a couple of cowboys eating it. All is fine and dandy right? Wrong. The food on their plates is, according to T, a death trap. No offense to the cook though. T says that its all cooked in grease, so much grease its not healthy for a man. Especially my man! Who, last year had to go to the doctor and get special pills that would stop his stomach from hurting all the time and allow him to eat. So greasy, that when mashed with a fork, the grease just pours of food; Meat, beans, and rice alike. The only thing that have grease in it is the tortillas.

So why am I all uptight about this? Because my husband comes home and can't eat what I have cooked him after a long day of working cows. Instead, he wants things that are easy on his stomach, like pudding for example.

There has to be an alternative to his problem right? Yes! I believe there is!
Scenario one: "Honey, why don't you eat just the tortillas, and avoid the greasy stuff?" That doesn't work... He is too hungry come dinner time that he forces himself to eat it.
Scenario two: "Honey, why don't you let me cook you a BIG breakfast so you won't be hungry come dinner time? And a BIG supper when you get home?" No, that doesn't work either..... He can't eat a big breakfast, just can't make himself do it.
Scenario three: (And this one came from his mother,) Quote, "Why don't you make dinner at home and put it in your medicine bags on your saddle, so that you can eat while your on drive?" Oh no can't do that either. That's farmerish...

So what does one do? I have to say I don't really have much sympathy for T ( I really do though, deep down inside, otherwise I wouldn't keep coming up with scenarios..) His only solution, however, is to move..Ok then...

In other news, My little K man will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! I can't believe it! I went to the doctor today with him for a check up and my doctor gave us this...

Cute huh? While I was in labor and pushing, my doc kept singing "take me out to the ball game"

Well I'm off to bed now, and to tend to a sickly husband. Night!

K's Nursery

Is it bad that we decided not to go to church this morning? We are pretty avid church goers and today we just wanted to sleep in, stay home, and vege out. We will be going next weekend though.

I finally got K's nursery picked up, but I haven't finished the projects I wanted to. I did get his curtains done and I don't know if I'm happy with them. Oh well, they are alright for my first set.

Its not much of a kids room, but I'm sure as K gets older there will be more toys and such in the room. My dad told me it looks cozy and inviting so that's good. I left the futon in there in case I end up sleeping in there with him!

Since I don't really have a due date that I'm set on, because they keep changing it, I'm saying that I have anywhere from 10-25 days left. I have had dreams that he will be a leap year baby, and my doctor says I'm due on the 15th of March. It has been the 13th, the 10th, and the 6th.. So you can see why I'm not set on one date :)

In other news, I'm finally enrolled in that online college that I've talked about and I've started my first class: English. I say started, but I'm still waiting on my book to get here. Actually it's in town at the post office, I just have to go get it! I think it will be a good thing and I'm kind of excited about it!

Well Ya'll have a great Sunday! I know we will :)

Sunday Evening Ramblings

Ok, so I was supposed to post this yesterday but I got busy and totally forgot about it.. so here ya go!

Yes it is Sunday evening and I haven't done a rambling post in quiet a while. I'm sure that I could every Sunday but sometimes I don't have time or just don't feel like doing it (I know I'm a slacker...)

Let's see... since my last post I said that I was going to post pictures of K's room when I got it finished... I'm still waiting to get it finished haha! I just don't have very much motivation when it comes to organizing these days and I don't know why. I guess my nesting spell is gone.. So one of these days I will get pictures up.

I've been moved up to having doctor's appointments once a week now, on Mondays. I drive to Marathon for them which is nice, it's closer than driving to Alpine. He said this coming Monday that he would check things and give me a rough estimate as to when I might deliver. (Nothing was really exciting enough to share haha so maybe next week (: ) Thank the Lord! I'm so ready to be unpregnant right now. Besides the constant drowsiness, I ache.. My back, hips, belly.. I guess I'm just getting ready for the K but I'm ready to not ache anymore. The tiredness I can handle for right now, as I'm sure it will stay the same or get worse. Not to mention, K constantly has his feet in my ribs.. making it hard to breath! And... I did something to one of my ribs, I don't know what, but it hurts constantly and I have trouble breathing. Especially when I'm sitting or laying down and have to get up. According to my schedule, Tuesday I will be 37 weeks along, but according to my doctor, I will be 36, so hopefully only a month or less to go! Woo hoo!

What else... This week has kind of been a weird week for me.. with mood swings.  But I won't get into that, only because T likes to read my posts and I'm sure he has had enough of them :)

I finally got registered for that online college I mentioned all those weeks or months ago. It's going to be a pretty cool deal I think. I was able to have 4 or my previous college courses transferred which was nice. (I don't have to take algebra again!!) And I signed up for one class, English, just to get the feel of things and see how much I will be able to handle when K gets here.

My parents are in California this week, (without me and T) We wanted to go this year so bad and probably could have but we thought it would be best to stay here, considering how close I am. Maybe next year.

I think that is all that is happening down here in this part of the world. Until next time! Peace!

Superbowl Sunday!

Many of you probably don't know that I am a big football fan! Now I'm not just a die hard fan, but I do enjoy watching it on occasion. Although, there was no point in watching it this season. My favorite team, the Colts, was missing their key player, Peyton Manning (the quarterback,) and I believe they didn't win one single game. So.. I was pretty sad. But I had my back up team, the Giants, who is playing in the superbowl today!

But anyways, this year I am spending my first superbowl with my husband. He, however, is not as big a fan as I am and is currently not thrilled about watching "overpaid men hit each other." But he is being a good sport and letting me watch the game. Although personally I'd rather watch the commercials.

So I woke up this morning with an urge to do some cooking, mainly for the superbowl game tongith, and after a quick trip to town to get groceries, this is what I've come up with.

Cookies!! How doesn't love cookies!! I do and so does T and they were pretty tasty!
I also made sausage cheese dip that has been a superbowl tradition for who knows how long in my family!
And... Jalapeno poppers!! Some of you may know that I cannot handle spicy foods, but I've learned that the longer you cook these babies, the less spicy they are!! :)

Ok, I better get back to watching that game! Ya'll have a great Sunday evening!
